On another note about women in comic books:

I will say this however.

Men are the dominant ones in comic books, generally every protagonist is male and the females in the series tend to be weaker, even if their powers are similar or indeed, exactly the same. And the antagonists of series’ also tend to be “bitchy” females. I don’t know if this is stereotyping or just accidental cliche, but I don’t like it.

Even when the women are just as ‘strong’ as men, they are always portrayed as hyper-sexual with completely absurd costumes and poses that are obviously male-gaze postures.

Right because lycra-covered washboard abs and skin-tight clothing over your package aren’t hyper-sexual.

Number of men in mainstream superhero comics wearing a thong: 0 (okay 1 if we count namor)

Number of women in mainstream superhero comics wearing a thong: ∞
